Over the last few years, Octavio Abúndez has investigated the utopian and dystopian notions of today’s society through various artistic media. Her work is based on classical philosophical and sociological themes, but is aesthetically oriented towards a critique of art history and the market. Through different series that overlap and create his personal universe, the artist questions the possibilities of the future and shapes an ideal society in different scenarios.
