Daniela Libertad

Mexico City, 1983

Daniela Libertad works with drawing, photography and video, exploring the various relationships between geometric forms, objects and her body, as well as the perception of the intangible, the mystical and their connection to everyday life. She also investigates how sculptural dynamics are constructed and deposited in objects, trying to understand the relationships of weight, tension and balance, which occur between materials, forms and objects.

She has exhibited both individually and collectively at Artículo 123, Fundación Casa Wabi, Galería MARSO and Casa Vecina in Mexico City; at JosédelaFuente, Santander, Spain; The Museum of Human Achievement, Austin, USA; Cine Tonalá, Bogotá, Colombia; POLY Galerie, Karlsruhe, Germany; Akershus Kunstsenter, Lillestrøm, Norway; among others. In 2019, Libertad was awarded with the Mexican Fellowship Sistema Nacional de Creadores de Arte.
